Volunteer

I believe that if you have a skill, you also have a wonderful opportunity to share it. For several years, I volunteered at a local community center in Amsterdam, running the "ComputerBrigade."

It was a simple idea: a weekly drop-in session to help people from my neighbourhood with their computer and internet problems. It was a powerful experience that taught me a lot about the digital barriers our modern world can create, and the real impact that a little bit of help can have.

It reinforced my belief in building things that are simple, strong, and accessible to everyone. Below is the full story I wrote about my time there.

Computer support in the local community center

After realising how lucky I am as an healthy, well educated, young man with a solid income, I wanted to do something for other people as volunteer. It just so happens to be that two years ago I received a flyer in my mailbox from the local community center: they were looking for someone with some knowledge of computers. A very interesting journey was about to begin!
