Painting using digital wet acrylic paint with Procreate on iPad Pro

Two of my favourite things combined: a cold beer under a Palm Tree on a tropical Island. I used the Procreate app with Apple Pencil to make this. The different shades of green in the palm tree and the reflection of the glass in the bottle where challenging.

I started with the Palm leafs in one colour and using different shades of green to add depth and detail. I used a photo, taken by my buddy Niels, from a Palm tree on Cas Abou at Curacao.

It's amazing how much detail and depth can be created by simply using slightly different shades of the same colour.

I used a simple outline sketch to test the composition for the bottle.

Here I created the bottle with its initial glare and shading added on the brown/yellow base colour.

At Curacao you can see the moon during a clear day. I didn't want to miss a detail like this.

On 120x80cm canvas

I was very curious how iPad painting would translate to a real canvas. I had one created and it looks stunning. It's really a crazy idea that this came from iPad. The detail in "paint strokes" is really convincing!
