The darker days are here in the northern hemisphere, and so is the need for good lights on your bike. Although battery powered lights can do the job, you need to keep them charged. I wanted a light system on my road bike that just works. Read along for some light in the darkness!

Soldering the individual leads together and shrink wrapping them

Hooray! I pulled it through!

The high beam function becomes available from 20KM/h and allows you to illuminate the road much further ahead (if traffic permits)

The resulting shrink wrapped connection is both functional and durable

Use a thin layer of tape to temporarily join the individual leads - making it easier to guide the cable

Temporarily soldering the actual cables to a copper guiding cable to enable pulling it through the bike frame
