The darker days are here in the northern hemisphere, and so is the need for good lights on your bike. Although battery powered lights can do the job, you need to keep them charged. I wanted a light system on my road bike that just works. Read along for some light in the darkness!

Welcome to the dark (country) side... where street lights are a rare sight

If you look carefully, you can see a piece of copper cable inside the hole

Once the bottom bracket was removed, I was able to see the holes inside the bike frame.

The high beam function becomes available from 20KM/h and allows you to illuminate the road much further ahead (if traffic permits)

The tail light mounted to my seat post with its cable going inside the seat post

Battery powered Garmin Varia lights - beautiful when they work - but no longer my cup of tea
